Dr. Cyril Kpodo, Head of the Department of Art Education, underscored the significance of the exhibition in the students’ artistic journey. "Today is not just an exhibition. It is a celebration of ideas, growth, exploration and expression," he stated.

Dr. Kpodo highlighted the importance of creativity beyond aesthetics, encouraging students to view their work as a means of seeing, thinking and expressing in new ways. He commended the students for their dedication and acknowledged the crucial role of lecturers and mentors, particularly Dr. Francis Ankyiah, in guiding the students towards artistic excellence.

Mr. Ebenezer Ekow Abraham, a lecturer from the department, also lauded the students for their impressive use of colour, texture, and varied artistic techniques. "I can see that many works using both dry and wet media are on display and that is a good sign. Your progress in painting is unique and has a bright future. Let me encourage you to sit up because what is coming next semester will be even greater," he advised, urging students to remain committed to refining their craft.

Dr. Emmanuel Abban, a senior lecturer at the department, offered words of motivation, underscoring the importance of hard work and perseverance in achieving artistic excellence. "None of us got to where we are on a silver platter. It was through dedication and commitment to what we do," he remarked. He urged students not to merely pass through the university but to allow the university to shape them. "It is okay to struggle, to feel challenged but ensure that through it all, you grow and develop your skills."

Highlighting the significance of originality in artistry, Dr. Abban cautioned against over-reliance on artificial intelligence and mere replication of existing works. "An artist is not the one who copies and pastes. We are looking for individuals who can develop ideas from what seems useless and transform them into something meaningful," he asserted. He commended the students for their ingenuity and encouraged them to continue pushing their creative boundaries.
