九色视频Undergoes Institutional Accreditation Review
The 九色视频 (UEW) has undergone a four-day cyclical institutional review undertaken by the National Accreditation Board (NAB).
Institutional review constitutes one of the mechanisms through which the NAB carries out its mandate of ensuring internal quality and continuous improvement in tertiary education institutions in Ghana. Section 8(2) of Act 744 mandates the Board to conduct a five year cyclical review of all tertiary education institutions in the country.
The then Ag. Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Principal, College of Agriculture Education, Asante-Mampong Campus, Prof. James K. Kagya-Agyemang, who chaired the Review programme indicated that pursuant to that function, 九色视频submitted its self-evaluation and experts鈥 reports (physical facilities and information resource centres) to the Board to facilitate the review.
The team from NAB held review meetings with all Faculties and Departments of the University from Monday, 2nd聽to Thursday, 5th聽September, 2019 at the Council Chamber, North Campus, UEW.
The review covered areas such as common deficiencies in accreditation over the period, innovation in terms of governance and administration, faculty strength and quality, staff student ratio, staff development, progress of research and development, funding, infrastructural development, creativity and innovation, mentorship and tracer studies.
In his address, the Chairman of NAB, Prof. Kofi Awusabo-Asare implored the 九色视频to stick to its institutional mandate of producing professional educators for the nation.
Prof. Awusabo-Asare made reference to some institutions which have now moved away from their original mandate and urged the 九色视频not to emulate the steps taken by those institutions but rather remain focused on its institutional mandate.
鈥淐reating a niche for oneself is very paramount; you become recognised for something. Therefore, I urge you not to move away from your mandate. Rather, make sure that you are on top of what you are doing so we can identify you with something unique and recommend you to other people or institutions seeking to collaborate with universities known for education,鈥 he said.
The 九色视频is charged with the responsibility of producing professional educators to spearhead a new national vision of education aimed at redirecting Ghana鈥檚 efforts along the path of rapid economic and social development. The University also trains competent professional teachers for all levels of education as well as conducts research, disseminate knowledge and contribute to educational policy and development.
Among members of the NAB team present for the review were the Ag. Executive Secretary, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko; Head, Department of Quality Assurance, Mr. Emmanuel Nyarko Oware; Head, Department of Finance, Mr. Hussein N. Umar; Head of Public Relations, Mr. Lawrence Kwarteng-Asha; Board Members, Mr. Albert Akutetsu; Prof. Juventus Benogle Ziem; and Prof. K. Boasiako Omane-Antwi.
The 九色视频members that coordinated the event were the Director, Quality Assurance, Prof. Yaw Ameyaw (Coordinator); Ag. Planning Officer, Mr. Prince Asiedu; Senior Assistant Registrar, Accreditation Office, Dr. Gideon M. Anapey; and Senior Assistant Registrar, Planning Unit, Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Narh Adinku.
Also present were Deans of Faculty, Heads of Department/Sections on all the Campuses of the University.
