The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has sworn in a 17-member Governing Council of the 九色视频 (UEW).

Members of the Governing Council include Prof. Obeng Mireku (Government Nominee and Chairman), Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni (Vice-Chancellor), Madam Irene Osei Bonsu Esq. (Government Nominee), Mrs. Abena N. Antwi (Government Nominee), Neenyi Ghartey VII (Government Nominee), Very Rev. Mrs. Ama Afo Blay (Ghana Education Service), Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa (Director-General, GES), Mr. Eric Agbe-Carbonu (Professional Teacher Organisation) and Prof. Mohammed Salifu (National Council for Tertiary Education).

The other members are Mr. Bruno Bajuaose Chirani (Convocation), Prof. Yaw Sekyi-Baidoo (Convocation), Dr. Isaac Abunyuwah (Convocation), Dr. Samuel Adu Gyamfi (Convocation), Ms. Theresa Ackon (TEWU), Mrs. Heartwill Tamakloe (GRASAG) and Mr. Emmanuel Oduro Fosu (SRC). 聽

The ceremony took place today, Thursday, 5th聽September, 2019 in the Conference Room of the Minister of Education, Accra, Ghana.

The Minister of Education, in addressing the Council, said, 鈥渢he mandate of the Council is to ensure that the University trains students to acquire the necessary professional and academic competencies for teaching in Tertiary and Pre-Tertiary institutions, non-formal education institutions and to build the professional and academic capabilities of serving teachers through regular and distance education.

You will therefore be interested, no doubt, to note government鈥檚 reforms aimed at enhancing teacher education as part of its drive towards improving learning outcomes in this country鈥, the Minister added.

The Chairman of the Governing Council assured the Minister that he would ensure that the Council executes its mandate diligently for peace, tranquility and success of the University.聽

Also present at the inauguration were the Principal, College of Technology Education, Kumasi, Prof. Fredrick Sarfo; Principal, College of Languages Education, Prof. Ephraim Avea Nsoh; Registrar, Surv. Paul Osei-Barima, Esq.; Finance Officer, Mr. Francis Obeng; Deputy Registrar, Division of Operations, Mr. Alexander Essah; Deputy Registrar and Head, Publishing and Web Development, Mr. Jerry Addison Anyan and Senior Assistant Registrar and Head, University Relations & Media, Ms. Obaapanin Adu Oforiwaa.
