Are you ready to unleash your creativity and showcase the beautiful connections between Mathematics, Art, and Creativity? In celebration of the 2025 International Day of Mathematics (IDM) theme, Mentoring the next generation in Collaboration with the Department of Mathematics Education of the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ (UEW) is thrilled to invite students, faculty, and staff to participate in a series of exciting contests designed to inspire innovation and artistry.

Contest Categories

We are calling for submissions in the following areas:

1. Creative Writing Contest

• Theme: Explore the role of mathematics in art, creativity, or the human experience through essays, short stories, or poems.
• Guidelines: Submissions should be [500 words], original, and creatively capture the essence of the theme.
• Deadline: Monday, 3rd March, 2025

2. Mathematics and Photography Contest

• Theme: Capture the beauty of mathematics in the real world! Look for symmetry, geometric patterns, and mathematical structures, concepts and principles in nature, architecture, or daily life.
• Guidelines:
  • Submit high-resolution images (1920x1080 pixels) with a short description of the mathematical concept or principle depicted.
  • Edited photos are allowed, but the mathematical theme must remain clear.
• Deadline: Monday, 3rd March, 2025

3. Creative Mathematics Video Contest

• Theme: Explain or demonstrate a mathematical concept in a creative way! Use storytelling, animation, experiments, or any artistic approach to make mathematics engaging and accessible.
• Guidelines:
  • Video resolution must be 480p and between (5 – 10 minutes).
  • Submissions should be in MP4 format and uploaded via
