Dr. Felix Tetteh Kabutey is a Ghanaian Educator, Research Scientist, and Environmental Engineer with expertise in wastewater treatment using plant Microbial Fuel Cells (MFCs) and tutoring of Science in Higher Education institutions. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science, Faculty of Science Eduication at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ, Ghana.
Education and Qualifications:ÌýDr. Kabutey holds a PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, China (2019). His doctoral research focused on the application of plant MFCs for wastewater treatment and bioenergy generation. Prior to his PhD studies, he obtained a MPhil in Botany (Plant Biodiversity) from the University of Ghana (2010) and a BSc in Applied Biology with Environmental Science from the University for Development Studies, Tamale Ghana (2006).
Professional Experience: Dr. Kabutey's professional experience spans Teaching, Research, and Community engagement. He served as a Integrated Sciene and Elective Biology Tutor at the Mpraeso and Methodist Girls senior High School in the Eastern Region of Ghana (2006−2013), then became a Reserach Scientist with the Instititute for Scientific and Technological Information of the CSIR, Ghana (2013−2020). Presently, he is a Lecturer at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ, since 2021, where he teaches various courses in Environmental Science, Research Methods and Designs. His research interests include wastewater treatment using plant-based technologies, microbial fuel cells, environmental biotechnology, and sustainable waste management. He has published several research papers in reputable international journals and presented his work at conferences around the world.
Contributions and Achievements:ÌýDr. Kabutey is recognized for his contributions to the field of environmental science, particularly in the area of wastewater treatment using plant MFCs. His research has demonstrated the potential of plant MFCs as a sustainable and cost-effective solution for wastewater treatment in developing countries. He has also been involved in community engagement initiatives, working with local communities to develop and implement sustainable waste management practices.
