Prof. J.O. Oyundoyin is a Professor in the Department of Special Education, Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. His area of specialization is the education of persons with developmental disabilities but he also delfts聽into creativity of youth. He has been teaching for the past twenty three years at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has successfully supervised more than eighty (80) bachelor degree projects, fifty (50) master degree projects, one (1) Mphil聽 dissertation and thirteen (14) Ph.D theses. He has published in both local and international journals. He has more than fifty publications in reputable journals. 聽His research works are expressed in the areas of interventions (coping with behavioural disorders, acquisition of social skills and adaptive skills), advocacy (early childhood education, vocational education and computer assisted instruction) and creativity. Also, his research has developed capacity to effectively manage persons with intellectual disability and persons with attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD) while giving them hope of academic survival.聽 Moreover his research efforts have therefore led to bridging the gap between theory and practice in the field of education for persons with intellectual disability and those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) while simultaneously facilitating their integration into the society by bringing into fore the mediatory roles of parents, teachers, government and community at large as聽 part of the joint effort of various stakeholders for understanding and providing succour聽to individuals with intellectual disability.
Prof Oyundoyin belongs to many academic associations such as International Association of Special Education, American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, National Association of Exceptional Children and National Association of Special Education Teachers. He has held many positions of responsibility at the University and outside. He has attended conferences in many parts of Nigeria and internationally in Ghana, Namibia, Tanzania and Spain. He has been the Acting Head of Department of Special Education from 2011to 2014, Director of Child Clinic in the Department of Special Education for the past ten years and head of the unit for Intellectual Disability in the Department.
