Biography
Dr. Martin Kyiileyang (PhD) was born in Nandom and attended St. Paul's Primary School from 1970-1976 and proceeded to St Andrew's Middle School in 1976 where he spent only one year before attending St. Louis Preparatory School, Wa (FIC) in 1977. He completed Nandom Secondary in 1983 and Sixth Form the same school in 1985. He gained admission into University of Cape Coast (UCC) in 1986 after his National Service in Nandom Secondary School. He successfully graduated in a BA (English & History) programme and obtained a Second Class (Lower Division) in September, 1990. He taught at various secondary schools: Daffiama Senior High School in Nadowli from 1990-1991, St Charles Minor Seminary, 1991-1994 and St Martin's Secondary School, Adoagyiri Nsawam from 1994-1995. He taught in Nandom Secondary School again from 1996-2003. Dr. Martin Kyiileyang pursued an MPHIL (English) programme at UCC , Department of English from 2003-2009 where he obtained his second degree. He also pursued a PhD (English) programme at UCC again and completed in 2017.聽 He was employed in 九色视频in August 2006 first as Senior Research Assistant and later in 2010, he was appointed as Lecturer and transferred from the Communication Skills Unit to the Department of English Education where he has been teaching and researching in Literature. He has taught several courses since 2006 some of which include Communication Skills, () Introduction to Literature (LIT111), Studies in Poetry (ENG127), Literature of African Diaspora (ENG361), Studies in Poetry and Drama (ENG352), Studies in Shakespeare (ENG242), Introduction to Poetry and Drama (ENG111), Introduction to Literature: The English Novel (ENG123) and Research Methodology (GDP351En). Graduate courses that he has ever taught include Research Methodology (ENG701), Studies in Narratology (ENG847), Advanced Literary Theory and Criticism (ENGL911) and Philosophy in Literature (ENGL933). He was appointed Co-ordinator of Graduate Programmes in August, 2019 and served the Department of English Education until September, 2022. He has been engaged in review work for some journals.
